The programmes of the Institution are tailored in line with the provisions of section 6 subsection 49 of the National Policy on Education which emphasizes technical manpower training relevant to the nation.
In addition, the Polytechnic offers courses leading to the award of the National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Estate Management, Accountancy and Business Administration.
The goal of the National Diploma programme is to produce technicians to meet middle level manpower needs in Computer Science.
The diplomats should be able to:
Use various programming languages
Solve simple hardware problems
Know the operation of computer system
Use computer packages
Maintain Hardwares
Install and manage a Computer system
Design and run efficient programmes in a wide spectrum of fields
Carry out routine (preventive) maintenance of computer facilities.
Candidates must possess four credit passes including Mathematics, Physics and two (2) other science-related subjects. To be considered for admission, a candidate must have at least a pass in English language. Consideration will also be given to candidateswho present a combination of results at not more than two sittings.

The programme is designed to produce Electrical and Electronics Engineering technicians for manufacturing, assembling, servicing and power generation, transmission, distribution and utilization industries.
More specifically, graduates of the programme should be able to:
Construct simple Electrical/ Electronics circuit when necessary for use in modification or as part of major construction.
Erect, assemble and install simple Electrical/Electronics equipment.
Carry out routine maintenance and repairs of simple Electrical/Electronics installations and equipment.
Select and use appropriate instrument to carry out simple tests and measurement on all types of Electrical / Electronic equipment.
Operate relevant equipment and installation when required.
Prepare simple bills of quantities and specifications related to Electrical/ Electronic Engineering works.
Acquire enough skill for self- reliance
Candidates for the course must possess four credit passes in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English and any other relevant subject at the GCE '0' level or SSCE or NECO or equivalent examination. Combination of results at not more than two sittings will be accepted.
